This is a classic basque beret! Made of 100% pure thick merino wool with a faux leather sweatband, this black coloured beret will keep you stylish, comfortable and warm through out the colder months. Don't miss out on this stylish basque beret!

Laulhère was founded in 1840 at the foot of the Pyrénées, near Pau in the commune of Oloron Sainte-Marie which in its heyday boasted a dozen beret-makers, and is known as the "cradle of the beret".

Laulhère is now the only remaining beret-maker in France, and has a unique and exceptionally ancient heritage. With the takeover of its sibling Blancq-Olibet, Laulhère now embodies the entire tradition with a mission to preserve this invaluable cultural practice as part of France’s heritage and is working to resurrect the beret in France and around the world.

I've bought berets before but my black one blew away in a storm. This was ordered within minutes of losing my other one. It arrived very quickly and I'm very happy with it. There are lots of cheaper berets on the market but this is top quality unlike some of the "fashion " berets. Definitely recommend

Faux leather Sir, madam, I always love your products but can you tell me why ,and the reasoning , you insist on using plastic leather which is really uncomfortable rather than genuine leather?

Looks Good, Works Ok It's a very good looking hat. It can be worn in a variety of ways, brim-in and brim out, badge showing or hidden etc. It's reasonably comfy, the join in the brim doesn't dig into you so long as you arrange it right. The sweatband won't stop sweat rolling down your temples like modern high tech hiker headgear would. So it's for weather that's cold enough your head won't sweat in a wool hat, but not so cold you need ears covered. A bit niche. More high street than high peaks.

Great Quality, But Not For Me The Beret itself is fine. The quality looks superb. My issue with it was personal. There's actually a pin with a Laulhere 'L' on it, which I had no idea about until it arrived. I appreciate brands, but I'm not the kind to flaunt them in any way. If you don't mind this, it's a fine hat.
